Theology Nerd Moment of the Day: (But seriously guys this is awesome)
In Mark 14:25, during the last supper, Jesus says, “Truly I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.’”
And then when he is about to die on the Cross (Mark 15: 35-37) One of them ran, soaked a sponge with wine, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Wait, let us see if Elijah comes to take him down.” Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. The veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. When the centurion who stood facing him saw how he breathed his last he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
Ugh. Totally never made a connection before, but wow. I can’t even explain my thoughts in a coherent way…. UGH… I love Scripture…
